My heart stopped as the paramedics were arriving. I was also fighting off the flu at the time. I was unconscious due to shock, the fall, and the cold.

Luckily the water was only a few feet deep. The last thing I remember was my head hitting the ice. I was five when my cousin pushed me off a dock and into a frozen lake. I need to edit it to reflect the fact that I used legally dead when I should have said clinically. if it's a deep pocket, you're going to die if you keep moving. every additional move you make will sink you further into the sand. TL\DR, quicksand sets fast, don't play in it.ĭon't move if you're stuck. Pretty scary, it was dark when i finally got out. My legs were bleeding, and i lost all the hair on my legs from the abrasion of their hands and the sand. It took all 5 of the people over four hours to dig me out, I was locked in like cement. he tries to dig me out but he keeps almost getting sucked in himself, and every scoop he takes away, more sand poors in. My friend tried to get me out, he couldnt. I was up to my stomach, and fortunately that was the depth of it. we were basically being dumb, and I sank too far and it hardened around me like cement. it sucks you in quick, and you have to get out of it very fast or it hardens around you. Me and my friend got the bright idea to go play in it. In isolated spots, the sand was actually quicksand. On the second, me and my buddy were playing in this creek of sorts, the water was only a foot high. I was 15, my dad was super into backpacking and we went into a slot canyon back country in arizona with some friends. >!insert spoiler here!< Other subreddits you might like: some
